Seems the 1043 controller board only has a step/direction interface (no serial) so out of luck there...

The 1043 motor board is not USB, so maybe some chance.

The USB unit has a stm32f103 processor in it, so looks specifically for programming the 1043 boards - I have a FTDI based usb-serial unit that seems to be seen from Remote, so I'll see if there's a way of getting it to talk to the motor board ...
