Is this measurement made from the front of the lens or.... is it made ...

I'm a new user and I'm sure this is an error on my part.... perhaps someone can help me.

I'm using remote with the StackShot and a Canon 5D Mk 2, everything is set to manual (focus, shutter, etc.)

I set the in point and the out point and the remote seems to indicate that 150 shots are needed ...
