HF “autoadjustments” preferred settings
I am an experienced (and very happy) Helicon Focus pro user…and have been using the SW successfully for some time in conjunction with my Stackshot rail, and few different macros lenses (Laowa, Mity, etc) to shoot insects in an indoor/controlled lab setting. Recently I’ve been experimenting with shoo...

Re: Helicon Focus always hard crashes with Intel Arc A770 graphics
update for anyone running Win11 with an Intel arc A770M (graphics) part. HF now runs blazing fast on my system after i did 2 things * ensured that the intel graphics card driver was up to date (there’ve been some well-documented issues in the tech press with this new part and the drivers that suppor...

Re: Question on shooting deep stacks with linear subjects
hi catherine and solde i really appreciate your suggestions! catherine: you are absolutely right. my lines -are- straight… HF is doing -its- job perfectly:) solde: you are right, too. altho i diffuse my insect macro lighting very carefully, i need to do same with this subject. that will almost certa...

Re: About how long to process 70 26Mb frames?
and, just adding to this somewhat old conversation… if you are serious about focus stacking, you definitely want helicon focus vs photoshop. i am a heavy photoshop user—for the appropriate uses and applications… and have professional creative cloud license. PS is not in any way, however, a satisfact...

Question on shooting deep stacks with linear subjects
I'm curious if anyone on this forum has experience shooting deep stacks (several hundred images) with predominantly linear subjects... i.e. no -crossing- lines (as in insect hair) but lots of small straight lines I'd like to keep straight. My subject here is an extremely small computer chip. see att...

Helicon Focus temp files?
Does anyone know if HF creates any .tmp files which need to be periodically cleaned up? I’ve found that, on my Win11 system, HF runs blindingly fast… if I’ve launched HF immediately after a OS reboot. However, after a few large stacks (300 approx large .nef files)… HF seems to run significantly slow...

Helicon Focus always hard crashes with Intel Arc A770 graphics
I have found that on my new Intel Serpent Canyon NUC... Helicon Focus hard crashes 100% of the time---always---when, under Preferences > Performance i select Intel Arc A770M Graphics... but NOT if i select Intel Iris XE graphics. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this an Intel graphics card/drive...

Re: VCRUNTIME140_1.dll error: smart ideas to resolve?
hi catherine, thank you very much for the quick reply! altho i did reinstall helicon several times, same issue… however…. was able to resolve the issue just now… by re-downloading MS Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 32bit -and- 64 bit executables. that put the correct .dll on my system… ...

VCRUNTIME140_1.dll error: smart ideas to resolve?
hello friends, I’m a longtime/happy/successful helicon pro user…have been running helicon on 2 of my win boxes. i just picked up a 12th gen core i7 intel serpent canyon NUC…running win 11 pro…discrete arc graphics… hoping for even speedier performance on very deep stacks… but unfortuantely helicon f...

Question wrt Stackshot “Distance per Revolution” advanced setting
I‘m currently getting solid insect imagery with my system comprised of Z7 + Mity 10x + Stackshot rail + approx 7 mu steps + Helicon. I’m considering moving up to a Mity 20x, which would require low-single digit micron steps (1-5 mu most likely) for best-quality stack results. Question: Does anyone h...

Recommended x86 system specs
I’m shooting deep 200-300+ large .nef image stacks with my Z7…and tired of the hour+ wait for my older Lenovo Yoga (core i7, 1.9GHz, 4 cores, 16Gb memory, no special graphics card or HW) running Helicon to chew through these files. Any suggested optimal system configurations for —significantly— fast...

Helicon Focus with Z7 and Stackshot
Friends, I am hoping some smarter-than-I person can resolve my issue... for which I would be hugely grateful! I am unable to control my Z7 + Stackshot system from Helicon Remote running on my Win10PC. everything looks right...but the Helicon Remote focus in/out arrows do not move the Stackshot rail....
