Re: Lightroom not seeing .dng output as unique

I've occasionally, PARTLY had the same experience in Develop... Moving from image to image, for a split second, the correct image displays, then is replaced by the image that's the same as the others. This morning I opened two .dng files in Word. You can read the “header” xmp stuff. I took a 19 imag...

Re: Error with Save All

Does anybody actually have this working? 'cause I just tried it on my laptop too, and it dumps the files into a folder on the drive where the cache is, NOT back in the source folder...

Anybody?

Error with Save All

Windows 10 Pro, Helicon Focus 7.6.4.

I bring a stack of RAW images into Helicon Focus. Render them in Method B. Render them in Method C. Tell Helicon to Save All and put them in the source folder. I always get the following error:
Capture.JPG

Lightroom not seeing .dng output as unique

I’m hoping I have a preference incorrect or something wrong in my process… Windows 10 Pro, Lightroom current, graphics drivers current, Helicon focus 7.6.4. I take a set of images to render in Helicon Focus. I send the raw images using “original” for the export. Render in method B with default 8,4, ...

Re: Helicon Focus 7.6.4 STILL crashing

there's been so much stuff played with, I'm sure I won't remember it all... In the end, I went back to 7.5.4, which worked perfectly, though slowly. Changed to 7.5.6, fine. 7.5.8 crashed in retouching. Up through 7.6.4, crashes were predictable. Eventually I anecdotally decided the retouching was fi...

Re: Helicon Focus 7.6.4 STILL crashing

Graphics card GTX 970 is current. There is no computer manufacturer. Home built. All of Windows 10 is current. As far as I know, so is everything else, but other than graphics what can HF possibly NEED other than a current O/S? The Windows log shows HF crashing, it shows the module as ucrtbase.dll, ...

Re: Helicon Focus 7.6.4 STILL crashing

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I'm completely baffled as to what you think I should do... I don't find any "copies" anywhere but the helicon folder. The current version of Helicon Focus crashes, repeatably, reliably, every time I do simple retouching on a stack. We're not talking hours of reto...

Helicon Focus 7.6.4 STILL crashing

In theory, I've submitted a bug, but since HF crashes back to Lightroom I don't know if what gets sent is complete or not. Windows 10 Pro, 32GB memory, GTX 970 GPU, 5820 running at 4.1 GHz, all SSD Helicon Focus 7.6.4 Pro. NO graphics acceleration – GRAPHICS ACCELERATION DOES NOT WORK. ALWAYS THROWS...

Upgrade to 7.6.3 rendering keeps failing

Windows 10 PC, 32GB memory, GTX 970 GPU

There's more bizarre going on than just the graphics acceleration. I'll try to put together more complete info.

Re: Halos no matter what I do...

BTW: I also tried the legacy version of Method B. Halos. AND Photoshop - halos. I've got a lot of stacks that get these halos and I'm not sure what to do to prevent them... I'm careful to strip off any images in the stack that are too far forward or behind where I want the stack to end, so there are...

Halos no matter what I do...

This has always been a problem, depending on what I"m shooting, and the response has always been "the light changed while you were shooting"... The light didn't change as I shot these. Indoors, in the studio, continuous lighting, 18" softbox left front, diffused light right rear to backlight. LIghts...

Re: Not returning to closest focus point

So the "continuous focus movement" isn't related to movement between shots, it's the total amount of movement between nearest and farthest focus points? I can Set it to yes and play, just to see if there's some hard limit to how many focus units I can reliably use before the lens and Helicon Remote ...

Not returning to closest focus point

I've been doing some working with Helicon remote lately. Nikon D850, Tamron SP 90mm macro, ISO 125, F/8, 1/2 second. Helicon Remote 3.9.11 W. I set up a ruler to play with. Put the front edge at the minimum focus distance for the lens. Set the lens to focus full range so there was NO LIMITING on the...

Making filenames unique within a stack

How do I implement something unique in filenames so each set of images in a stack are uniquely identified so it’s easier to import a bunch of stacks into Lightroom? I've changed the folder naming so later stacks don't clobber ones from earlier in the day, but filenames are the same in every stack. I...

Re: Disable file naming

Looks like it's been about 2 years since this question was asked... I haven't seen any obvious way to have the "copy to computer" mode keep the filename from the camera. Has this been implemented as indicated at that time?
