Re: Sony A1
I congratulate you and your whole bunch of people that have been working on this. You guys rock! Yes, there are a couple little things I hope will get fixed as time goes on, but the biggest hurdle, at least I think, has been jumped. I suspect the type-A to micro-B, USB2 cable, with an adapter, just ...

Re: Sony A1
It's working... As of yesterday, with the Alpha 1, I had Live View, could change exposure, and could focus. I shot a few test stacks and they got to the tablet. I'm not sure what I did differently than the other day when I COULDN'T focus, but it's now working. BTW: The old way, using an On-the-go ca...

Re: Sony A1
Hopefully y'all will find a way to keep the images on the camera. The tablet isn't set up to store huge quantities of data, and that's what the Alpha 1 specializes in! And especially when using Helicon Remote in the field, the amount of time between shots is very important. If Helicon can't capture ...

Re: Sony A1
Sent another bug report, which went as far as I know. Tried with store on camera - nothing. Won't take picture, no Live View. Tried PC+Camera. Same thing. Can ONLY take a picture with destination set to PC only. Transmission time from camera to tablet is around 12 SECONDS. ALSO, when camera connects...

Re: Sony A1
Sending feedback failed. I'll try again, but this is essentially what's in the bug report... Currently using straight Type-C to Type-C cable. Just tried the newest overnight version. SOME success. Tablet saw camera. Exposure in HR was live - could make changes to settings. Live view went live. Could...

Re: Sony A1
Just tried again with Still Img. Save Dest to "PC". Used straight Type-C to Type-C. Camera sees "PC". Helicon Remote SEES camera, displays exposure data. Everything is locked and no Live view. Using USB-OTG cable, tablet does not see camera. No connection in Helicon Remote. Submi...

Re: Sony A1
I'll do that the next time I'm playing with the software... Though, considering I'm the absolute MASTER of the stupid human trick, we should never underestimate my ability to miss something obvious!

Re: Sony A1
I'll try it with PC only. Yes, I've been "Exiting" so it's all shut down. The only other option would be to reboot the tablet every time and that would be silly. I'm also puzzled that using a USB-OTG cable DOESN'T work. But exactly ONE time I got Helicon Remote to see the camera - no Live ...

Re: Sony A1
Tried the released version this afternoon. Couldn’t get it to work. Connected the camera to tablet with USB-OTG cable (USB-A to USB-C into USB-A female to USB-C) Both ends are USB-C with USB-A connection in middle – other than one end being USB-C instead of micro-B, this is the OTG I’ve always used....

Re: Sony A1
Thanks... Yes, I don't recall there being many settings, but there were a couple. Like you, I do 99% of my stacking in the field, though I do have a wind box that makes it a bit more feasible to handle the long delay between shots. I've been doing focus stacking successfully for a while using the Al...

Re: Sony A1
DavidF, to shorten the time floundering, trying to find the settings on the Alpha 1, do you have the settings you put into the Alpha 1 that are needed for things to connect to Helicon Remote correctly? I had an email from support several months ago, but it's been lost...

Re: Sony A1
I'll get it and try it on the tablet. It has a USB-C connection so it may be faster, but it doesn't have a lot of memory, so being able to keep images on the camera will be important for long-term use.

Re: Sony A1
OK, I"m back from wandering around since February... Is there a new beta version or has Helicon Remote been released? If in Beta, can you send me the link and I'll download and try it again.

Re: Sony A1
Sadly, the last word from Alix in support was that they aren't sure why it's not working with the Alpha 1. It's a new camera to them, and it could be camera settings or something in Android (or both). Either way, at this moment I'm not able to get the Android 12 Galaxy tablet and Alpha 1 to work wit...

Re: Sony A1
I just sent another bug report from the tablet. I just installed Helicon Remote 4.4.0 on the Android Samsung S6 tablet. Connected the Sony Alpha 1 using a USB-OTG cable. No connection in Helicon Remote. Tablet knows the camera is there - Gallery comes up and displays images. When initially plugged i...
