Yes it's great to have a macro rail and dedicated macro lenses but occasionally you just need inexpensive old-fashioned gear which works. Taken with an extension tube. Bracket focus.

The first outputs from Helicon were "acceptable" but not outstanding. But running the A B and C outputs to make a subsequent output proved successful, amalgamating the best of the best.

Yes it was a planned experiment. I was very pleased with the outcome and will be using the technique again with real plants.
I used an f/1.2 lens fully open to achieve the bokeh and selective focus bracketing of the camera.
