Re: Hyperfocal setting

Thanks, I like this idea very much. I think we can implement it as a button for storing focusing position. The program can position to the max or min distance and count steps from there. This should be reliable way to restore predefined position. I would not rely on EXIF field, as far as I remember ...

Most probably the object had moved. Or the camera moved not exactly along the optical axis. Or you are too close to the object and relative distance of object's parts varies too much. Click source images one by one and you will notice when this happen. I would suggest to use retouching brush to pain...

Merrill, Try to set lower values of Edge feathering in the Helicon Focus Preferences. Lower Smoothing value should also help. We are now looking for beta testers for Helicon Remote, the program to make focus bracketing from computer via USB cable. Please contact me at dankozub (at) helicon.com.ua fo...

You can download 4.0.5 version from the same download page. You can also try to run 4.1 version in 32 bit mode by checking appropriate option in the file properties of Helicon Focus.app

Stephan,

Sorry for the delay, your message was not marked as new and I discovered it only now.

If you switch file browser to compact mode, the program should load faster. Actually, we load file at startup only if it is not RAW. What kind of files do you have?

Lee,

I think the reson is that the brightness of the sky varies from shot to shot. Use manual exposure settings in the camera and enable Brightness adjustment in the Helicon Focus settings.

Mitchell,

Helicon Focus might autorotate image if there is EXIF information about camera orientation. I would appreciate if you send me one file for tests (http://heliconsoft.com/ftp.html)

This is definitely not the latest version. I would suggest to upgrade to 4.77 version.
