The M50 does indeed work with the EOS Utility, I tested it yesterday with version 3.11.0 on Windows. Libraw has recently added support for CR3 files https://www.libraw.org/news/libraw-snapshot-201910 Possibly that's one third party component you were waiting on? I have an M50 and I'm willing to help...
