Re: New User: Poor Result on my First Stacks
Left panel is the input frame that's currently selected in the list on the right hand side (the exception is when another output is selected in cross-output retouching). If the in focus parts of the input frames are soft the output frames will be soft too. Are you sure your raw workflow is applying ...

Re: Helicon Focus 7.6.6 cross-output retouching and other code defects
Er, except stacks don't actually have to be rendered in the same direction to be marked as compatible. Because automatic alignment flips the direction for each new output, doing method B+C+B produces two B outputs having the same direction, a C output having the opposite direction, and the last B an...

Re: Helicon Focus 7.6.6 cross-output retouching and other code defects
Hi Catherine! After going through Ctrl+Alt+Shift+W, manually setting the sorting order, and changing affinities it doesn't look like any of those are the issue. What the logs show is messages like 0.099: Abnormal magnification 1.00094 detected at image: 1 "P1090750-006.jpg" new order: Qt::...

Re: Helicon Focus 7.6.6 cross-output retouching and other code defects
I've been monitoring Helicon's success rate in creating compatible outputs between methods B and C and it's been only in the 20-33% range on recent stacks. There is no apparent correlation with the subject of the stack, lenses used, or number of frames in the stack. These are all on tripod, autofocu...

Re: Helicon Focus 7.6.6 cross-output retouching and other code defects
Just a bump to note I continue to hit images where outputs aren't compatible for retouching. In some cases the misalignment between method B and method C stacking is so large it's obvious when toggling between the outputs since the image jumps in the output pane. I've developed a workflow which fall...

Re: CSV for batch process
Could you please describe a use case for this functionality? Hi Catherine, this a request for what's also called substacking, subslabbing, or just slabbing. Zerene has had support for quite some time, and while the Zerene documentation is somewhat terse, it does mention some basic use cases. As I u...

Helicon Focus 7.6.6 cross-output retouching
Another variation of this issue: with OpenCL and rotational alignment some outputs don't get enabled as retouching sources unless automatic output cropping is also disabled. However, since method B and method C are somehow producing substantially different alignments from the exact same set of input...

Helicon Focus 7.6.6 cross-output retouching and other code defects
Hi Catherine, any update? Been over a month since the issue was reported and I keep hitting more failures to link outputs for retouching even with rotation and brightness adjustment disabled. Since an additional workaround appears to be disabling OpenCL it would seem there are perhaps some issues wi...

Helicon Focus 7.6.6 cross-output retouching
Hit this same issue with cross-output retouching on a few more stacks, so tried ditching 7.6.6 and rolled back to 7.6.4. Unfortunately this issue also reproduces on 7.6.4. I've uploaded a second set of frames to the ftp server as well. So far, I've identified two mitigations. Disable adjust brightne...

Helicon Focus 7.6.6 cross-output retouching and other code defects
Hi, hit another project bug on the fourth or fifth stack I've attempted with 7.6.6. Problem is the method B output isn't coming available for retouching the method C stack and vice versa so something's preventing Focus from seeing the stacks as compatible. I hit similar trouble occasionally in 7.6.1...

Hi Catherine, that's correct. Sorry, I forgot to tick the notify box and missed your reply.
I just checked and this is fixed in 7.6.6. Thank you!

Re: choosing methods for stacking
When focused on the far object, the magnification of the image is larger. This is correct for hypercentric lenses. It doesn't hold for the majority case of an entocentric lens or (to a good approximation) for special cases such as telecentric lenses operating within their telecentric depth. It's po...

7.6.4 benchmark always fails if OpenCL is not enabled
Clean install of 7.6.4 on an i5-8265U with Win 10 Pro. Failure happens after the green bar gets all the way across, so I suspect the defect may be in the result calculations rather than the benchmark itself. Unfortunately, it looks like the logging isn't particularly informative and no dump is gener...

Re: Duration of holiday sale and development outlook?
All of those are already done/fixed. Nice! Glad the mockups were helpful. On further thought, the minimum width of the source image list and brush controls on the retouching tab could easily be reduced. So I uploaded another mockup showing that. This would provide about another 100 pixels of image ...

Re: Duration of holiday sale and development outlook?
Hi Catherine! Good to hear from you. Already added this to the to-do list. Cool, thank you. 8) I think there may be other menu items which don't display corresponding shortcuts or mouse actions as well as some shortcuts and actions without menu items. Zoom fit, zoom 100%, and the retouching grid tog...
