Re: Time-Sensitive: Preserving original color in TIFs

Hi Catherine, Apologies for a slow response - it's the holidays and all the associated frenzy forced me to step away from this thread. Exporting layers from the private build does indeed preserve the color perfectly, to the point that I could see no difference between the exports and the original/so...

Re: Preserving jewelry highlights and fire

Thank you, Catherine. With one piece I shot, I ended up simply using HF to create a stack where all the images were sized to fit, as I also did some manual focus stacking. When time allows, I would greatly love to show you both the before and after shots, and then see your suggestions on how to impr...

Re: Preserving jewelry highlights and fire

Thanks for replying Badoldfatman (funny user name). In my original post, I already have plenty of fire. In fact, an abundance - I created a lighting system that creates this easily. My question isn't how to create the fire, but as I wrote below - if I have 5 images each with fire that's unique; i.e....

Re: Exported layers: preserve original file name

The filename, please. That way I have a visual match between the source and corrected files, something that's very important when building a composite final image.

Thank you, Catherine.

Re: Time-Sensitive: Preserving original color in TIFs

Hi BobStone, I'm familiar with Match Color, and it sometimes does an amazing job. Thanks for the suggestion. But back to the original question - is there a way to disable color alterations in HF? I work in a color managed system, and an unpredictable color shift is a bit concerning... My thought is ...

Time-Sensitive: Preserving original color in TIFs

Hi all, in lieu of forthcoming answers, I'm trying to solve time-sensitive issues. Anyone that can answer this please: I have a series of TIFs. They need alignment for stacking and focus-breathing, but nothing more . When I create a stack and export the layers, the color and brightness in the layers...

Exported layers: preserve original file name

Hi there (yes, still new to HF).

Suppose I create a stack, and then need to export the layers.

How can I export layers (as TIFFs) that preserve the original filenames, instead of the 4 digit names that HF assigns?

Thanks,
Jerry

How to preserve ORIGINAL color in NEFs

Hi there - new to HF, running v 7.6.4 Pro, Win10, color calibrated system. I have a set of 11 NEFs I'm trying to combine. These were shot via manual focus shifting in Nikon Capture Control via the '+' button after locking in the focus on the portion of the subject closest to the camera. Here's the c...

Newbie: best practise advise | exposure bracketing + focus stacking

Hi there - apologies if this has been asked before, but couldn't find anything directly relevant... I have a large piece of jewelry I working with, using a Nikon 200/f4 "micro" lens. I'm new to focus stacking, and have to do this manually via Nikon Capture Control due to the older design o...

Preserving jewelry highlights and fire

Hi there - New to HF, as well as focus stacking. I have diamond ring with a large center stone that I shot. My lighting is quite complex, with multiple fixtures. I shot 5 different images, each producing a unique flash/fire from the stone. Variance was accomplished by enabling or moving a single lig...

Newbie: Using Helicon to only align images?

Hello, apologies if this has already been asked - but couldn't find anything on this. I have a set of jewelry images that I shot. Unfortunately, even with a very heavy-duty geared tripod head, and a very heavy duty tripod leg set (with weights), my camera (d850) drifted a small amount between each s...
