Looks like it's working well, memory usage seems to be very stable - thank you for the update! :)
EDIT: I don't want to jinx it but I'Ve just stacked 160 images with no issues - used to crash after 50-60 and that's awesome! No need to split the stacks and purge the memory in between any more!
Thank ...

Re: Shutter setting during focus bracketing
I am using Helicon Soft for focus stacking of images collected on a Sony A7RV camera. I am taking close up (near macro) stacks of 30-100 photos using a Sony 90 mm Macro lens. My exposures are typically ≈1 second each.
QUESTION: Is there any value in capturing the images using silent shutter ...

Re: HF 9.0.2 throwing an Adobe DNG convertor error?
That won't help. Please send a bug report after this happens.
done! :)
I really want to help get this resolved as it's a big issue with larger projects.
For very small batches or individual stacks it doesn't happen at all.
But today I've had it happen when batch processing around 120 linear ...

Re: HF 9.0.2 throwing an Adobe DNG convertor error?
If anyone else encounters this issue, set your memory cache to 0% in Helicon Focus (and restart the program). If you still get these errors, turn off parallel image loading, and/or close some other heavy software running on your computer to free up some RAM.
I tried all that but it still ...

Re: Helicon Focus 9.0.2
would your recommend lowering it to 25%?
Yes, given that this happened. What were you doing in Helicon Focus at that time? How many stacks were processed?
oh ah... about 120? (2x 60 in Method B and Method C)
Thank you, I'll do that!
EDIT: reducing it to 20% worked just fine - but the next ...

Re: Helicon Focus 9.0.2
I've run into an issue with system memory:

Memory cache limit is currently set to 50%, would your recommend lowering it to 25%?
The actual system memory is 48GB by the way, so even at 50% I'm surprised to see it go up to almost 75GB (after closing CaptureOne and ...

Strange - I have 2 finger scroll on a Mac in retouching, including all other gestures like pinch-zoom etc.

Huge improvement in speed on a Macbook M1 Pro 2026!!
Congratulations on the performance, that's excellent! Thanks to the whole team, well done!
As for the "trial license" - just re-enter the code and it shows as lifetime

Suggestion: dedicated crop tool (for RAW to DNG / DNG to DNG)
I've come to really appreciate having the ability to apply a crop when outputting stacked RAW images (or DNGs) a a DNG file and it has occurred to me that there's no other software around that does that. With Lightroom or other RAW editors the DNG outputs don't have the crop applied to them and I ...

Feature request: manual crop (also for DNG exports)
Would it be possible to implement a manual cropping feature?
This would be really great for the RAW to DNG feature as it would help reduce the file size in situations where there's a lot of empty space around the subject, especially with high-resolution images like 60MP - 100MP files.

Re: Strange behavior
In some cameras you can't turn off the orientation - in that case you can use certain tools (like Exiftool) to set the orientation of the RAW-files to "0".

Request: don't change the height of the Rendering method tool
Whenever I switch rendering methods the Rendering method selection buttons move up or down very quickly as there's no need for a Radius slider in Method C but there is one for Method A and B.
I often end up accidentally clicking on the wrong method when this happens and started rendering without ...

Re: Helicon brackets losing highlight recovery
Could it be a difference in colour profile?
By default Adobe uses "Adobe DNG" for DNG files and "Adobe Color" for RAW files which can cause differences. There's also often times a shift in White Balance taking place (especially when one didn't pay attention and use a fixed white balance setting for ...
