Hotpixel removal via dust mapping?
Hello! I've occasionally had problems with hot pixels while stacking RAW to DNG. Would it be possible to create a feature similar to a dust map which would remove hot pixels during a stacking procedure? I think A simple black frame should work and perhaps this could even be used to reduce the sensor...

Re: individual image orientation/rotation
Thank you, thank actually worked really well!! If anyone else wants to do that there's something called "exiftools" that works very well (though it's a bit complicated to use). The command you're looking for is "-orientation#=1" which bascially resets the image to horizontal orie...

individual image orientation/rotation
Hi! Occasionally when doing vertical stacks my images are saved with a wrong orientation (although the camera points straight down some images are turned 90° to the left or right). Of course this means that these RAW files can't be properly aligned during stacking as that kind of rotation isn't supp...

Re: Camera (Z6) not found
Alex wrote to me: There is a problem on macOS (and iOS) that the operating system starts reading info about all the images on the memory card once the camera is connected, and there is no way to make it not do that. If there are many images, then this process takes a lot of time and the camera can ...

DNG out for Panoramas?
I really like the DNG files I get by focus stacking and I was wondering whether it would be possible to also allow for panorama output to be saved as DNG files.
Being able to stich the stacked DNG files and output them to DNG would be awesome!

Helicon 3D Viewer blank output
I've tried to save stereo images from a 3d model made in Helicon Focus. The model shows up in Helicon 3D Viewer, I can move it around, turn it etc but all saved images and videos are blank and only display the background colour. I've tried multiple times, rebooting, using different stacks etc - noth...

Re: Raw-DNG troubles
Thank you so much for the shortcut!! :) that worked like a charm! You're absolutely right, it seems that it's actually the camera manufacturer who's at fault as they intentionally underexpose the image to preserve highlights - and that gets compensated later on in the RAW editor but the Adobe DNG co...

Raw-DNG troubles
Hello! I have a few problems with RAW to DNG; 1. the DNG outputs are exactly 1/2 stop darker than the original files. This happens regardless of whether "Adjust Brightness" is enabled or not. The RAW images have a perfectly consistent brightness, still the DNG is definitely darker. I tried...

Which version of Helicon Focus do you use?
Have you enabled hardware acceleration?

Re: Blurring around complex shapes
Hmmm well Phil you could also use Method B and increase the radius gradually and reduce smoothing until you're satisfied with the result.
That's a subject where I think both methods could work.
That too should prevent that sort of glow from occurring.

Re: Upgrading Lifetime License
IMO it depends on how frequently you use it. If you do a lot of stacks - and very deep stacks with +100 images - it's certainly a lot quicker using hardware acceleration, especially on something like a Mac M1. And batch/split stacking is quite useful for very deep stacks too. As for DNG - personally...

Background "detection"
Hello! I was wondering which background colour would be best in order to get a good depth-map / 3d model? It doesn't seem to work well with brighter colours (or colours in general) as the background is put somewhere in the middle/front while the rest of the image, that is in focus, is correctly posi...
