Thanks @Catherine, Open stack is a great solution.
It's strange though, because the Cmd-A shortcut works fine in the Open file dialog with quite a few third-party apps that I've tested (Affinity 3, BBEdit, cotEditor...) as well as with Apple's own apps (Numbers, Pages etc). Not the end of the ...

Hi,
New user, testing the 9.04 beta version of HeliconFocus on a MacBook Pro, M5 Pro chipset.
In HeliconFocus, when I choose File>Open images... and navigate to a folder containing multiple focus stacked images, I would expect to be able to use the standard Cmd-A shortcut to select all images ...
