Re: Panoramic Shooting

I worked a stacked panorama scene just yesterday. Standing on the left, at the base of a waterfall, I created a stack of the left side of the waterfall, then a stack on the right side. The left side stack required 1 more frame than the right side stack. Thought this curious at first, but the right s...

Re: HF 7.x - Resize option (rendering)

Just a note that the User's Manual / Help file still mentions this option. Been using the new version for a few days, and I love the new layout. Definitely faster too!

Re: Before stack: Image looks fine. After Stack way over saturated

Looks like you have both jpg and cr2 (raw) files in your stack. Try with just jpg or cr2.

Re: How to solve a Blurry edges problem?

It looks like you may have a number of images in the stack where the plane of focus is between the object and the background. I would try finding the last image where the back edge of the object is in focus, and the first where the background becomes sharp; then remove every image in between from th...

Re: Internal render error: 5 - Yes I know

You might want to make some changes to the Scale setting on the Edit/Preferences/AutoAdjustments page. But I've done 100+ image stacks with the camera on a tripod without seeing this error. And yes, there is a slight but noticeable focal length shift, but Helicon does not complain. If you are hand h...

Re: Export high resolution depth map

I would guess that's there a 'tone' for each image used in the stack, representing the in-focus region used to render the final image.

Re: Export high resolution depth map

There are a number of export options on the Saving tab, including the depth map. The 3D model is quite interesting too!

Re: Colorcast on final image post render

I want to clarify my previous post … this is what I can glean from using the program. When saving a raw file stack to DNG, some of the raw file metadata from a 'sidecar' XMP is embedded in the DNG file. Looking at the attribute values there, they have values derived from one of the images in the sta...

Only a single download … which features are available will depend on which license you buy, and the activation code you receive.

Re: Nef files from Nikon D850 ?

DNGConverter_10_3.exe is the program you need to run to install the converter, not the converter itself.

Under Windows, it usually installs under C:/Program Files/Adobe .... not the (x86) folder. So this will need to be changed in HF.

Re: Nef files from Nikon D850 ?

I'm using D850 NEF files without any issues. Download and update the Adobe DNG converter and then be sure HF is pointing to the new version.

Re: Colorcast on final image post render

A number of users have reported this and I have experienced it too. My interpretation is that the image on the left honors the edit settings in the associated XMP file, while the rendered image on the right does not. After you save the rendered image, there is an XMP file created for it. It seems to...

Re: Light Variation During Stacking

That can happen if an exposure bracket is set. On a Nikon, the BKT remains even after turning the camera off. See if the BKT symbol is shown on the LCD. Hope it's that simple..

Re: Filetype RAW

You can open the file from OneDrive in Photoshop using the File, Open command. A dialog will appear asking you to 'describe' the raw file. The inputs would be: Width: 640 Height: 480 Channels : 1 Depth: 8 Header length: 0 While the image is clearly a grey scale it does seem to 'wrap' in a peculiar w...
