Re: scientific scale
Yes, there's a problem with that, sorry. We'll fix it in the next update, and in the meantime go to Helicon Focus preferences - General and un-tick the "Enable display scaling support" checkbox. Press OK, restart Helicon Focus, and resizing the scale will work.

Re: scientific scale
Which version of Helicon Focus do you have (it's in the window title), and is it Windows or Mac?

Re: M1 Max OpenCL
Sorry, 12.7 is not supported as it was released after the Sonoma release (and being a small company, we don't have enough M1 systems for all these OS versions).

Re: Helicon Remote and Stepper
Hi, 1. There's no function to explicitly save the focus stacking parameters, but for example if you know that the camera is already at the correct starting point, you only need to input the interval and the number of shots. Locking the points is not required. Or it can be at the correct ending point...

Re: scientific scale
Click the scale, it will be selected with a green rectangle. This rectangle has 4 small squares in the corner, click and hold one of the squares and drag thge mouse. Basically, what you've already tried, but the scale has to be selected first.

Re: Error while capturing
It's not an error in Helicon Focus itself; Windows has refused to either create the file or write the data to it. We don't know why, but usually it's one of the listed possibilities. How exactly were you saving, was it a "Save as" dialog where you literally navigated to the target folder? ...

1) I'm not sure what a composite is, we'll look into it.
2) Menu - File - Export - Save depth map. It's not a very high resolution map, though, it might not suit you.

Re: bad quality Live View. Sony a7r iii
Another "strange" thing I noticed is that if I set "Live View display" to "Original Size" in the settings, the image is very small. While to have a full screen Live View I have to select "Fit and Smooth" Original size means 1:1, one pixel of the live view ima...

Re: bad quality Live View. Sony a7r iii
Hi, To the best of our knowledge, the live view quality is the best it can be. You can install the (free) Sony Imaging Edge software to compare the quality. There is no live view quality option in Helicon Remote, it's always as good as possible. You probably mean the "Preview quality" opti...

Re: Help?
This is due to focus breathing of the foreground part occluding the background part. The first thing to do is check whether there even exists an image in the stack where that part is sharp. Often there won't be one, which means it's not a problem with the focus stacking algorithm and has to be fixed...

Re: Failed to write image Metadata error...file contains data of an unknown image type
This will come up if your source format is CR3 and you're saving the result as TIFF or JPG. You can ignore this warning, but note that your resulting files will have no EXIF metadata. Possible solutions: a) save the results as DNG; b) export the source images from Lightroom or Capture One (as DNG). ...

Re: Difference between the 3 types of Undos
A point is just one (last) application of the brush. If you single-click your mouse button in retouching mode, that's a point. A stroke is when you click and move your mouse to paint a line. A stoke ends when you release the left mouse button, and consists of a series of points. "Undo brush&quo...

Re: Recommendation for M1 Mac with macOS 12.7
Hello, It looks like we don't support macOS 12.7, only 12.6 (and earlier versions). 12.7 has been released after we upgraded all our M1 systems to either macOS 13 or 14, we're a small company and don't have enough M1 Macs to cover so many macOS versions simultaneously. But just to double-check, plea...

Re: Automate the system with motor & Helicon Remote
Hi, The motor you linked to is just that - a motor. Helicon Remote works with the controller that has a USB interface for computer control on one end and drives the motor on the other end. The controllers we support are Trinamic/TMCM, Stackshot, and Wemacro. The only option that may be suitable for ...
