Saving and opening project file
Hi I've look up questions and answers from you on this subject in your forum and I'm sorry, but I don't yet understand. I'm am trying to learn for the first time how to save and open a project. I'm loading TIFFs into Helicon exported from Capture One and I clicking on save project and in the associated folder named Output in my server drive appear a folder with a depth map, an opacity map and a result all in TIFF form, and also a small separate file outside the folder with the name of the project followed by .hproj. It's a couple hundred KB in size. OK. That's what happens when I save a project. When I click on "Load Project File" in Helicon I get a "Failed to Load Project File" message, "File not found: /var/folders/yh/s043mq_s5q79g9zfj1s2cz680000gn/T/com.phaseone.captureone12-D069375D-755A-4847-BBCD-0AA782A8C546-732-0000014ED8974F73/5E343941-9F17-46C3-9928-66F0A98B0525/P0024573.tif" The other files in the folder are not available to click on, being paled out. I've seen your responses to this have something to do with something Lightroom is doing, in the case of Lightroom users, and perhaps something similar happen to Capture One users. Sorry to have to ask, but I simply haven't figured this out yet. -- Bill

Re: Saving and opening project file
Reading your past suggestions more carefully I've changed Capture One to "keep variants" that it's exported to Helicon. But it didn't help. The 2kb h.proj file that the experimental stack of two images that I made didn't open or link to the other files it needed to. I just got this: Failed to load project file:
File not found: /var/folders/yh/s043mq_s5q79g9zfj1s2cz680000gn/T/com.phaseone.captureone12-9D9A9527-947D-471C-A430-5A51BB593CC1-674-000000BCC8B11A52/A293CF6B-AAE7-4184-B755-91A5C2C8DE9B/P0024393.tif

Re: Saving and opening project file
OK, so reading further, I thought I'd try to not export the files using the Helicon plug-in for Capture One, but rather load the raw files directly into Helicon. But Helicon doesn't support Phase One IQ4 files so this wouldn't work.
Re: Saving and opening project file
The problem with loading the project is exactly what the error message says: the source files are no longer located where they were when you saved the project. You can see why from the path itself - "/var/folders/yh/s043mq_s5q79g9zfj1s2cz680000gn/T/..." is a temporary folder, C1 probably cleans it up as soon as the export finishes, or maybe when C1 quits. I'm not familiar with the intricacies of Capture One so I don't know what exactly "keep variants" means, but judging from your experiment it does not mean "stop creating temporary TIFF files on export". You should ask Capture One support if it's possible to export images without creating temporary intermediate ones.
As for IQ4: this format is supported by DNG Converter 12.2 with a footnote: "S14 and S14+ raw compression modes are unsupported."
So either you can successfully load these images into Helicon Focus by upgrading your Adobe DNG Converter to the latest one (or at least 12.2), or by not using the said compression modes (until Adobe supports them).

Re: Saving and opening project file
I export variants from Capture One, saving the files as Tif files. After those files are backed up, I delete the IQ raw files. The tif files work fine with HeliconFocus.
