Exported layers: preserve original file name

Post by Jerry-and-Lois »

Hi there (yes, still new to HF).

Suppose I create a stack, and then need to export the layers.

How can I export layers (as TIFFs) that preserve the original filenames, instead of the 4 digit names that HF assigns?

Thanks,
Jerry

Hello Jerry,

at the moment it's not possible. We'll investigate this further to check what kind of solution we can offer.
Could you please let us know if it's the file name or the parent directory name that matters?

The filename, please. That way I have a visual match between the source and corrected files, something that's very important when building a composite final image.

Thank you, Catherine.

Makes sense, I agree the current naming scheme is far from great, we haven't put much thought into it. Thanks for pointing that out.
Do you have a suggestion for naming the folder inside which all the layer images go? I'm thinking it should be according to the naming template specified in Helicon Focus settings (which is based on the source file name by default).
