Video function broken in ver 7.7.0

Just upgraded from ver 7.6.6 to 7.7.0 and I cannot stack frames extracted from a 6K video file.

Working fine in 7.6.6, but the import under 7.7.0 it is really, really slow compared to 7.6.6. Then 7.7.0 will not stack the frames or will not import the frames at all (error does vary).

If the frames are extracted, the error message I get when I try and stack is "Cannot read TIFF header"", which is odd since jpg frames are extracted from the 6K video by the third party utility.

Going back to 7.6.6. That fixed everything, it all works in 7.6.6.

We have significantly reworked how videos are imported in the version 7.7.0, especially for HDR videos, which yours probably is - these now import much slower, but the advantage is that they're no longer squished from 10 or 12 bits per pixel to 8 bits. They also don't get JPEG-compressed, which is lossy, even if imperceptibly so. So, the slow(er) importing is normal. Any errors you're seeing are, of course, not normal, but we'll need a sample video fragment to fix this. We've contacted you about this separately - and thank you for reporting the issue.

File was sent, as requested. 6K files from the Panasonic G9 have caused issues before, which Alex fixed.

It is looking like a hardware issue. Working on desktop, not working on my laptop.

My issue was caused by a cache size and location problem. Version 7.7.0 now extracts TIF files from videos not JPG files. The cache size is now much, much bigger.

My cache, located on a RAM drive, was filling up before all frames were extracted, causing the stack to fail. Helicon cache now relocated to a larger drive.

30 frames in JPG was about 150 meg in my cache, it was over 2.5 GB in TIF files for the same video. As I do multiple stacks the cache was smashed.

Thanks to Helicon for the help fixing the issue.

Check your cache size if extracting video frames using v7.7.0 onwards.

It only seems to update on major releases. So I go to the website and download the latest version manually.
