Nvidia RTX 3000 slower than 630?

Post by GracieAllen »

Dell 7740 Precision, Windows 10 Pro, 32GB memory, Intel 630, Nvidia Quadro RTX 3000 GPUs

In preferences, selecting the GPU and running the benchmark. Parallel image loading is enabled.

Using the Nvidia GPU its EXTREMELY slow. Benchmark is about 91 seconds.
Switching to the 630 the benchmark is about 60 seconds.
Restarting so it turns on OpenCL it drops to 21 seconds.

I'm not an expert on GPUs, but it seems odd that the RTX 3000 would be so abysmally slow doing Helicon Focus? Particularly compared to the built-in 630? When I looked at comparisons of the two GPUs, I couldn't find a single instance in which the 630 was any more than about one tenth as capable as the RTX 3000.

Is there some configuration that needs to be set in the RTX 3000 GPU?

It won't let me delete my post, so...

Never mind... I rebooted the laptop and it didn't improve, so I deleted the whole driver folder and reinstalled the drivers for the RTX 3000. I don't know WHAT happened to the driver, but after the re-install the time dropped from 91 seconds to 3..
