It's a pain to re-set every option at each upgrade :(

Post by XFer »

At each upgrade, HF wipes out each and every setting, preference, path, everything; so I have to set every option from scratch every time!

Why oh why? :(

Couldn't you save some kind of options file, .ini, whatever and reload it when the program starts?

And why the installer can't tell the program which language I choose? I have to set it twice every time...

I know it may seem a minor nuisance, but actually I find it very annoying. :(

New version should preserve the settings, we will fix this in the future versions.

Hi Stas,
thanks for the support.

When you say "new version should preserve the settings" you mean a new upcoming version?

Because 5.2.15 still erases everything. :(

Strage, we fixed it quite long ago and just tested again: the settings stay the same after reinstall. What exactly changes when you install new version?

Just about everything:

Language (2 times: I have to re-set English during setup and afterwards within the software)
Temporary files location
Option to (not) show intermediate results during calculation
Monitor ICC profile
Start folder

This is with Windows 7-64 Ultimate.

Now I can't try again because 5.3.4 does not work properly: goes into an infinite loop when I click on "Parameters", only option is to kill it from Activity Manager.

Still bugged in 5.3.5:

But at least it remembers display ICC profile and the "Do not show intermediate results" option.
