Could you please explain what exactly you mean by not being able to connect? Do you see any error message when pairing the app with D7100?

I've been using Helicon Soft with a D7100 and Nikon 200mm Macro for several years with out any problem. Sometimes you have to reset the camera to factory settings in order for it to work. I needed to do this in order to connect to a monitor via HDMI. Remember to make a copy of your current setting to a CD card before using the factory reset. Strange that you can reinstall your old settings after the factory reset and it works.
