Autofocus Stopped Working on Nikon D5300

I am using Helicon Remote to digitize negatives with a D5300, 40mm Nikkor Macro and a USB connection. Up to the last two days, my autofocus has worked perfectly and then suddenly it stopped working. I have tried to reset the config and start over. Camera settings did not change when this stopped working. How can I fix?

It is very unlikely that the error is in the software, so I probably won't be able to give any useful advice. Does AF work normally hand-held, without remote control, during in live view operation?

This was totally my error. I accidentally move the FULL/infinity to 0.2m switch on the lens. Will definitely check that next time.
