I'm a little unclear about the WIFI connection to Helicon Remote. Do both the camera and the phone/tablet need to be on the same WIFI network?
What if you want to use Helicon Remote outdoors in a location that does not have WIFI?
Is the camera (Canon) able to create a local WIFI 'network' that the phone/tablet can connect to?
[Camera: Canon 6D Mark II; Tablet: iPad running iOS 14.4.2]
WIFI Network - Helicon Remote
Re: WIFI Network - Helicon Remote
They must be on the same Wi-Fi network in order to communicate, that's just how Wi-Fi works. The problem of outdoors use is very easily solved exactly the way you suggested: the camera creates its own Wi-Fi hotspot which you then connect your computer or smart device to.
