sending sample of small area of stacked image ( used 63 images - rented sony A7Rii accidentally burst 3 images form 21 shots but all look great on their own) . see photo attached of grey "blobs" did I need even more stacked focus of this area? Final image printing 4x7 FEET so I am nit picking. Is it cause the needles of cactus are so fine?

I am not sure I understand how did you shoot the images. Helicon Focus is designed to merge images with the same exposure but differently focused. Otherwise its behavior is not defined.

Stas,

I am doing deep dive into the directions for Helicon today. Now trying Method A instead of B with radius 4 instead of 9 and sooth 2 instead of 4 with highlights on blend and hope I can get rid of these mush spot on cactus and painting under it. FYI I shot all images f8 on Sony A7RII ( rental)> 56 images shooting from top of cactus down through different levels of beads to canvas . Side comment . My monitor profile does not show up in the list of monitors. Not sure exactly what info to give it or if that really matters. ALSO FYI I am trying these with raw files. I was also wondering if importing small stacks of DNG and then take the output tifs into PS would solve the problem ? I tried a stack of just the cactus and there were no glitches.( 16 images right there!)
