Peruvian Saturniid Moth

Post by kmhwildlife »

Adeloneivaia acuta, a Royal Moth from La Merced, Junin, Peru. The species may not have a common name. I set up a UV light to attract various tropical insects during my stay in La Merced. This was one of several cooperative moths that I was able to stack, many other incredible examples were not. The leaf and moth were photographed in a FotoDiox light cube (16"x16"x16") with a Fuji X-T2 and XF 80mm Macro on a tripod using the Fuji focus bracketing. 1/15 sec @ f/10 and ISO 200. 54 images were stacked in HeliconFocus but I don't recall whether I used A, B, or C - is there a way to read that in the file?
