Ant image

Here's an ant specimen imaged using a JVC KY-F75U camera mounted on a Leica MZ16 stereoscope using diffused fluorescent lightening. The stack was about 30 images, and they were run at R16, S4. The result image was quickly edited in photoshop with clone stamp and healing brush, then sharpened using unsharp mask.

I've done about 500 images using Automontage, and am beginning to look around for alternatives. Helicon produces a superior background, but the subject is not as sharp. If anyone familiar with HF has suggestions on the # of source images to include in a stack like this, or a good ratio of Radius:Smoothness, or any tricks of the trade, I'd love to hear them!
