Autocrop of non existing area

Post by D600vince »

Hi,

Trying my first focus stack, 24 mm (full frame) focus from nearby glasses to end of the apartment .

There's artifact on the edges, that's because the focal length varies according to focus it seems. Yet Helicon Focus copes with that. But there's artefcat on the edges.

If we look at last frame, we see in helicon focus that the last frame has black border. Artefact are in this area.

So why helicon can't offer us to crop the image according to the smallest frame, so we get rid of those edges artefacts.

Or helicon could create an alpha channel with thoses bored so we may crop them in photoshop afterwards

Thanks

Please make sure that autosorting of source files is enabled (see icon over source image list). If the stack is properly sorted, there is no black border on the result.

Hum not sure we're taking about same thing.
There's no black border on the result. The black border i depicted are the one of the last image (with has the farthest focussing).

BUT, the areas on the result image (which has no black border), have a lot of artifacts in the areas that correspond to those black borders.

So to get artifacts free image I've to crop out the non black area of the result that correspond to the farthest image black borders

Oh ok,

I was stuck in 4.2.9 world. Couldn't figure out that ß would be at version 6 !
Much better / faster etc. 6 is awesome !

Basically 6 auto-crops the "black areas" so problem is solved. Sorry to have lived in the past :-)
