How to create HDR images?

Post by hjk »

Hello

I find this info in the product pages for HR

3. Exposure bracketing - control your camera remotely and create high-dynamic range images in just few clicks.

What are the needed few cliks here? Do I need some third party software to generate HDR images from the exposure stacks generated by Helicon Remote or can this be done with Helicon Focus?

Hello Henri,

Yes, this is true, you need to use third party software at present. We are going to release HDR program which will merge RAW files to DNG HDR images (Windows only).

Hello Stas and thanks for the info.

I have been waiting for your release as you have been planning it for quite a while. Any timetable decided yet? I guess Canon 5D Mark3 is a gamechanger here having inbuild HDR mode (3 shot exposure bracketing only). Do you know if the HDR mode in 5D Mark3 is compatible with Helicon Remote allowing automated focus tacking with HDR mode ON.

We haven't tested it since we don't have an Mk3, but if I had to guess I'd say it won't work with Helicon Remote.
