Memory problems
Memory problems
Do other users have problems running out of memory? I use a laptop with 120GB RAM to run Helicon Remote but run out of storage after shooting just a few stacks.

Re: Memory problems
No, this shouldn't be a problem, Remote barely uses 200 megabytes of memory. Did you mean that it ran out of disk space?
Re: Memory problems
Sorry, yes. The hard drive ran out of space. I notice that about half of the used space was listed as 'Photos' and most of the rest as as 'Other'. This is on a Macbook.
If I turn if off and back on, the 'Other' component has disappeared.

Re: Memory problems
So is there still an issue, or did you resolve it? Either way, Remote only uses the hard drive for your images and maybe 200 kilobytes for the settings file. So it's not an error on our part.
Re: Memory problems
It is still happening. I will talk to people at my local club for advice.
On a related note: I plan to add an external drive, but only have two USB ports. Do the USB cables for the camera and the Stackshot rail system have to be directly plugged into the computer, or can I use a powered multiport hub? I know some items will only work if directly connected.

Re: Memory problems
Both the camera and Stackshot should work even with a simple non-powered hub.
