Large-ish project keeps crashing

A 78-image project that I am doing a _ton_ of retouching on repeated crashes as I am retouching an flipping between the layers using the page up and page down keys as I brush in detail. Additionally, the saved project file takes quite a bit of time to load.

I tried sending a bug report, but I didn't get a response so I'm not sure if it went through.

Any hints to stop all this lost time (I'm forced to save every 20 or 30 minutes to minimize loss) would be appreciated in the extreme.

Looks like we didn't get your report. Is it happening on Windows or Mac?

How long does the project file take to load, exactly? And what CPU model does the system have?

It's happening on my Mac Pro (late 2013) with 3.5 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5, 64 GB 1866 MHz DDR3, and a pair of AMD FirePro D500 3072 MB

The OS is 10.12.1 (16B2555) -- Sierra

Version of Helicon Focus is 6.7.1 Pro

I'll find out later today how much time it takes to reload if it will help.

Oh, and as it reloads, the dialog box where you choose the project file stays as a white box for some time until the project shows up... then, to see the retouching I have to switch from the Rendering tab to the Retouching tab... then, after switching tabs, it takes even more time for the retouches to show up completely.

Project crashed again today, so I reopened the program and then the project....

time to open the project: 8 minutes 46 seconds
time for the retouching edits to load: 11 minutes 20 seconds
for a total of: 20 minutes 6 seconds

Unfortunately, the log doesn't help. There has never been a complaint about project loading before so we didn't log anything related to it.
Could you give us any of the projects that exhibit such extremely long loading times? You can e-mail it to [email protected]
