Relative or absolute "depth map"?

Hi there

I extracted the depth map of different CR3 focus stack (Canon R5) and I'm wondering whether the obtained depth map is relative or absolute.

It's relative, it's image index map, where 0 stands for the first picture and 255 for the last picture of the stack.
