.CR3 files
Any update on Helicon focus recognizing .cr3 files?
Re: .CR3 files
Yes, CR3 is supported in the latest version of Helicon Focus v.7.6.6. You are welcome to download it from our website: https://www.heliconsoft.com/software-downloads

Re: .CR3 files
Version 7.7.5 doesn't work with CR3 files from my Canon R5. If I convert them to DMG they do work, so it's not the resolution.
Re: .CR3 files
I am currently using Version 8.2.2. With batch processing, I receive an error message that the CR3 file type is not recognized. However, it works fine when launched from LIghtroom.
Re: .CR3 files
There is no problem with batch processing per se. If you're receiving this message, it's means that you're using the "split stack" function in combination with one of the options that require reading EXIF metadata from the images (split by shooting time or split by exposure). Yes, this is an expected error in this case when working with CR3 files. The reason exporting from Lightroom works is that Lightroom converts CR3 to another format (DNG or TIFF).
We are working on the new version of Helicon Focus where we will try to address this shortcoming.

Re: .CR3 files
I have the same issue and am gutted - would be such an amazing feature right now as I have a folder with 400+ CR3 files in it and want to stack them to stacked DNGs
Just out of interest... you say
"it means that you're using the "split stack" function in combination with one of the options that require reading EXIF metadata from the images"
From trying this several times, the error occurs the instant you choose "split stack" from the dropdown
I don't think it's possible to choose a different way because the option box never opens - I've had to force-close the app every time this has happened
So for this to work, is the only current solution to create DNG files of everything first, then run Helicon?

Re: .CR3 files
Unfortunately, that's true, I was incorrect earlier. You just can't select the "Split stack" option when the source files are CR3. We are trying to fix this in the next version of Helicon Focus.

Re: .CR3 files
It probably will work after you update the Adobe DNG converter, but it's an old version. So I recommend installing both the latest DNG converter and Helicon Focus.
