Helicon Focus not allowing me to save finished (merged result file ) but by default it will allow me to save the “blurry” image next to it)
My input files are all RAW files, which should rule out the problem being caused by improper input I am using an iMac on OS Sonoma. I am using the latest version of Helicon Focus. My iMac is not giving me any error messages to include here.
Please help!! Thank you
Please help! I have just activated HELICON FOCUS and used it for the first time. “Save” problems
Re: Please help! I have just activated HELICON FOCUS and used it for the first time. “Save” problems
Hello Alan,
I have no idea what you mean by "blurry image". After rendering a stack simply press "Cmd+S" to save, select the parameters (file name, location, save format) and it will be done. Or you can go to the "Saving" tab to inspect the image more closely and see more saving and export options.
If something still doesn't work, please send a bug report after trying to save unsuccessfully: menu - Help - Report a bug.

Re: Please help! I have just activated HELICON FOCUS and used it for the first time. “Save” problems
Thank you for your reply Catherine. Sorry that I was not communicating clearly. I will clarify.
After I render the processed image I use the save command within the Helicon Focus program (on the drop-down menu) to save the rendered image file into my destination folder. This all seems very straightforward. (There is also a “save” button in the lower right hand corner that I have tried using, but I get the same incorrect result.)
Next, when I open the saved file in the destination folder, however, it turns out that the file that was saved by the H.F. program is one on the input images, not the rendered file. The rendered image file is apparently not saved, only one of the many input files is saved.
How do you suggest I proceed to correct this? It has happened repeatedly. I have been unable to save any rendered images so far.
I know that I must be missing something very basic here.
Please let me know your thoughts.
Thanks.
Alan

Re: Please help! I have just activated HELICON FOCUS and used it for the first time. “Save” problems
Hi Alan,
After rendering is complete, go to the "Saving" tab, then press "Save" on the right. Pay attention to which folder you select, and enter some distinct name for the file, don't use the default name. Proceed with saving it, and don't close Helicon Focus, leave it on the "saving" tab.
Now go to that folder, locate the new file, and open with any image viewer (MS Paint will do). Is the image different from what you see on the Saving tab?
There is no code in Helicon Focus to save a source image, it's not possible, so that's not what was happening.
