1 Is the beta version open to all? select persons?
2 Is membership conditional?
3 Does download of version 9 overwrite version 8? can both be run simultaneously?
4 I usually run Helicon from LightRoom. Does version 9 overwrite the instructions for LightRoom? Or do I need to select version 9 from within LightRoom?

1. There are no restrictions, you can just download it and use it.
3. It does not overwrite the version 8, they are side by side, you can even run both simultaneously if you wanted to.
4. This is a bit tricky, it's not possible to select the version in Lightroom. The version that installed the plugin later is the one that Lightroom will use. After you have both installed, open the one you want to use - Preferences - Integration - Reinstall plugin. This will register the plugin to this version that reinstalled the plugin.

Suggestion
I'm not finding it easy to fine control the mouse in "substack" to select first and last images
Would it be possible to implement a keyboard button or combination to use arrow keys?

It takes a while for the app to pre process the stack when the Preview function button is pressed. Apart from an occasional flash of the Windows blue wheel there is no indication that the app is processing data. It looks like the app has stopped .... I tried a 225 image stack the first time around and was puzzled by the seeming no action. The large Windows wheel on the left hand side of the screen shows no sign of action. There is no indication of action until the screen refreshes with the previewed processed image and histogram etc.
Would a simple information box be possible "Please wait, I'm working!"

Very fast lots to like here. One bug to report:

I'm using a Mac Studio, M2 Ultra with 128GB of RAM and 24C CPU/76C GPU, MacOS 26.4

When I right click on a stack at the bottom of the window to Save an output, the file dialog box flashes rapidly and disappears so I can't save. I can select Save from the menu at the top of the screen and that works fine.

Thanks Alnitak and el48tel, we're looking into this.
You can also save the current result (the one you're viewing) by pressing Cmd+S.

anybody experiencing this issue?

downloaded ver 9 and installed it
program is not launching.
checked task manager. helicon appears but closes <1sec
helicon 3d viewer icon appears as generic one and has no link to proper exe file
checked the properties looks like there is a typo
"C:\Program Files\Helicon Software\Helicon Focus 9\Helico3DViewer.exe"
helico3d instead of helicon3d
but even after pointing to the correct exe file neither of the programs helicon focus or helicon 3d viewer work
strangely the uninstall exe works

8.3.11 works flawlessly.
tried updating to latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable x64. no changes
there are some folders and files missing from the v9 helicon focus folder compared to v8 in the program files. don;t know if is supposed to be like this or not.
tried on 2 different pcs. same results
win 10 x64

Yes indeed, the Start menu shortcut is fine but the one on the desktop is broken, we'll fix it, sorry.

Helicon Focus 9 should work, there's nothing missing from the program files. Please open the folder C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Local\HeliconFocus, compress the contents of the whole folder to zip and mail it to us: [email protected].
You can paste this into the address bar of the File Explorer to open that folder directly: %localappdata%\HeliconFocus
