I don't currently see another way to change it, we'll discuss it with the developers. But it's not the last method in the list, it's the last one you clicked when selecting. Click A, then B, then C - you get C. Click A-C-B - you get B, etc.

Select two or more results in the bottom strip - right-click - "Stack outputs". This does exactly what you ask, it adds these 2 or more selected resulting images as a stack. This does not involve the source files that went into those original results.

I may not have explained my request clearly enough. For better understanding, I will try to demonstrate my request with an example:

* From one batch, I render file B84 and another file from the same batch, C1. Both rendered files, saved in the bottom list as B84 and C1, are not perfect, so I correct both of them using the retouch brush.
* Then I right-click on them, select B84 and C1, and add them as a stack.
* Both files are added to the stack, but not the retouched versions.

So my request is whether it would be possible to add the retouched B84 and retouched C1 files to the stack, and then render those using Stack Outputs.

I understand now, sorry about the confusion, I was sure that it already worked like that. Yes, we will fix this so that the outputs are be added with all the retouching you did to them.

Work around is easy
Do your stacks
Select the method you want for the restacks
Then select the items for stacking
RIGHT CLICK choose stack items

I think there's a problem with saving a batch of saved images in Save All images
Make an A B and C stack
Select all three images
Right click and choose to make a stacked image
Select all four images and choose to Save All images
The three first stacked images are saved. The fourth image (the stack made from the stacks) is not saved but the information box says four images saved

Interesting, thank you, we're looking into it. By the way, "Save All" means literally all and is not affected by selection.

P. S. I can't reproduce the issue, I get all the resulting files including the one from "Stack outputs".

What are your saving options? I suspect the same folder as source files, which for the stacked outputs would be the temporary folder.

For the purpose of beta testing and for the purpose of this test ..... the source folder contains only the RAF files. They were CTRL-A and dragged into 9.0.2 which was loaded directly (not LightRoom).
The save option for stacked files was a nominated (from the dialogue box) subfolder within the test folder.
If I save the three stacked ABC files after stacking they all save to the nominated folder.
BUT if I include the re-stacked file that does not save but the original ABC files do save

Yes, that's what I'm saying. It is saved, as instructed, to the subfolder of the folder where the source images are. The output images are in the temporary folder, therefore the result is saved to the temporary folder with these settings. Maybe we'll think of something, but there is no simple solution (other than not use these saving options when using Save All and stacked output; use a specific folder instead).

Ok I understand but it seems strange that the stacked ABC save to the nominated source folder but the newly stacked image goes to the temporary folder

I've run into an issue with system memory:



Memory cache limit is currently set to 50%, would your recommend lowering it to 25%?

The actual system memory is 48GB by the way, so even at 50% I'm surprised to see it go up to almost 75GB (after closing CaptureOne and continuing the process it surpassed 80GB).

Yes, given that this happened. What were you doing in Helicon Focus at that time? How many stacks were processed?

With Stack Outputs, the rendered images from the bottom panel are also moved into the stack. Could you keep the rendering method name in the stack as well, the same way it is shown in the bottom panel?

For example:
`B84_20260509_120904.0000000_16_-res.tif`, `C4_20260509_120911.0000000_24_-res.tif`, and similar.

This would make it easier to select the source image during retouching.

Currently, for example, the filenames in the Helicon Focus cache folder are:
`20260509_120904.0000000_16_-res.tif` and `20260509_120911.0000000_24_-res.tif`.

These filenames are also transferred into the stack after using Stack Outputs, but from them it is not possible to determine which rendering method was used.
