Image selection - macOS

Hi,

New user, testing the 9.04 beta version of HeliconFocus on a MacBook Pro, M5 Pro chipset.

In HeliconFocus, when I choose File>Open images... and navigate to a folder containing multiple focus stacked images, I would expect to be able to use the standard Cmd-A shortcut to select all images within the folder.

In icon view, this results in a system beep and screen flash and no images are selected. In list and column view, there is no result at all.

It would be great if the macOS 'Select All' keyboard shortcut could be enabled.

that doesnt work I have tried and didn't on previous versions so I just click first one, shift click last one and the load to select all

We don't know why it doesn't work, it's the system dialog handled entirely by macOS itself and we have no control over it. If we ever find a solution to this issue, we will of course implement it. Sorry about the inconvenience.

You can use "Open stack" if you just want to load all images in the folder. Click any one, and all of them will be opened.

Thanks @Catherine, Open stack is a great solution.

It's strange though, because the Cmd-A shortcut works fine in the Open file dialog with quite a few third-party apps that I've tested (Affinity 3, BBEdit, cotEditor...) as well as with Apple's own apps (Numbers, Pages etc). Not the end of the world though

I'm really enjoying testing heliconFocus, you may well have a new customer...

I hear you. We'll look into it again, and I have no doubt there is a reason why it doesn't work, we just couldn't find it.
