I've just had the same problem with my D7000 with a Sigma MAKRO 150mm F2.8 EX DG HSM using Helicon Remote 2.4.4.w. on a Windows 7 64bit virtual machine (waiting for a native Linux version...) Started shooting 2-3 images -> freeze. The logfile show the same error the thread creator has/had. I'm shooting in RAW and decided to leave the images on my SD card. After selecting "copy to PC" everything works fine - at least with my current stack of 11 images. If the error will occur with a larger stack I'll update you.
