Stupidly installed latest version of Helicon Focus 7.5.6. I am on OS X El Capitan. DIs there a link anywhere to older versions that work with El Capitan?

Indeed, the latest versions of Helicon Focus are only compatible with 10.12 and later.
If you need to run it on 10.11, please install v. 7.0.2: https://www.heliconsoft.com/downloads/HeliconFocus7.0.2.dmg
