Method A/B?

I just installed 4.40 and noticed a method selection box under parameters.
What is that?
The Help files don't show this box.

We implemented another method for image frocessing. Somethimes method A works better, somethimes B. We have not found clear rule which method is suitable for which image. So your feedback is welcome.

How about telling us the thinking that you decide to offer these 2 methods?

We implemented method B which works better in many cases. But not in all cases and not that different to delete the older and faster method A.
Method A is a simple weighted average. Method B searches for the best plane, creates a pseudo 3D map of the object, smoothes it and then creates the resulting image.
