Problem with new macro lens

Hello everyone,
I have an FB Tube which works well with my Canon 100mm f/2.8 USB macro lens. I just purchased a Canon 100mm f/2.8 IS USB L series macro lens. When I try to use it with the tube, it refuses to advance after each shot. I have tried it with and without the IS enabled; it makes no difference. Just for the heck of it, I threw on my 24-105 f/4.0 IS USB L series lens and it advances properly.
Without the tube, the 100mm L series macro lens performs normally.
Any thoughts on what the problem could be? Thanks in advance.

Please make sure that focusing range switch is set to Full. Please let us know if this makes any change.

Thanks for your response Catherine. Unfortunately, setting the range to “full” does nothing with the FB tube. I tried the 100mm f2.8 AI USM with the FB Tube on both my EOS R and my 5D MKII and it didn’t work in either case. Repeating the same test with my older 100mm f2.8 USM and the FB Tube performs perfectly. You listed the 100mm f2.8 macro AI USM as being compatible with the FB Tube, so I am a bit confused.

Try using Live View. I had a similar problem with my camera and using Live View resolved my problem.
