Helicon remote step size

Post by Crocothemis »

The Cognisys StackShot Macro Rail allows for mechanical steps of 1 um. A step size of 100 um (0.01 cm) appears to be the minimal step size in the Helicon Remote software version 4.2.2. Is there a possibility to decrease the step size in the software?

Also, the digital manual mentions a certain "correction factor" in the DOF calculator that we cannot find.
Has this feature been removed in the 4.2.2 version?

Thanks in advance for your kind help.

The units are mm, not cm, so that's 0.01 mm = 10 um. If you need better precision, simply switch to microsteps:

The correction factor is not needed and not used for macro rails, it's only for focus stacking using the camera's lens for focus adjustment. That's why you're not seeing it when Stackshot is active.
