Dear All,
i am very new to focus stacking. I have been creating macros, esp 1:1, manual focus. using the 1:1 magnification. Now, i manually focus at 1:1 and change the focus mode on the lens to Auto, and start my Z9 focus stacking, i am losing my 1:1 magnification as the focus is changing. Is this how this will work ? if so, on the final image, will this 1:1 or a close up shot.
Nikon z9 and 105mm Macro Lens
Re: Nikon z9 and 105mm Macro Lens
I use the 105 on a Z7 using Nikons 'focus shift' feature. Manual focus first frame; set the step value to 4, lens at f/8. At 1:1, you'll need about 80 frames for 1" of DOF. Check the last few frames on the LCD to be sure you have reached the desired end of the stack. If not, restart from the previous stack by invoking focus shift session with the desired additional frames. (Don't refocus the lens)
It does not matter of the lens is set to auto or manual focus, just do not use any of the face/eye tracking options that are also trying to change focus. Hope this helps ...
