Android app: live view is way overexposed

Post by jimh12345 »

I'm using HR on an Android phone, with a Nikon Z50, over USB.

The live view on the phone is so overexposed that I can't see what I'm doing because detailed areas are completely blown out. I've read the FAQ note on this, and have "exposure simulation" turned on - (without it, the image is totally white). The FAQ says there's a "brightness boost" option I should turn off, but I can't find any such option in the Android app. "Preview", after a long time, shows me an image that's even more blown out.

Update: I've given up on the Android app. I've borrowed a Windows tablet, installed HR on it, and it works as expected - the live view doesn't quite match the camera display, but it's close enough. My conclusion is that the phone app just doesn't work, at least with the Z50.

It has to be the brightness boost: settings - Interface on Android. Scroll the list down, there may be more settings that fit the screen, it's scrollable. This setting is at the very bottom of the list.
