Can't start movie mode connected to Nikon D7100

Hello:
I have the Helicon Remote app running on Moto G Power cellphone connected to a Nikon D7100 via a OTG cable. The Helicon Remote app seems to be working OK. When I set the camera in movie mode and start Liveview I see the correct image on the Liveview display on my cellphone. The Helicon Remote Control setting for "long press" supposedly is to start/stop movie mode. But when I long press on the screen nothing seems to happen. The movie mode doesn't seem to start. When I short press on the screen it changes the Liveview display from normal view to magnified view. Also the START RECORDING button under TOOLS is grayed out. I'm using the DEMO view of the Helicon Remote app. My cellphone is running Android 12. The switch on the back of the camera is set in Live View Movie mode. Also a window pops up in Helicon Remote that says: “ Live View mode selector is set to movie live view…etc”
I also tried connecting my Nikon D7100 to my Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 tablet running Android 12 using the Helicon Remote App and got the same result.
Any assistance resolving this issue would be appreciated,
Bill A
