When I loaded nef file, I get the following result on the software window (attachement).
If I save the file in Psd, I get a small 56 k image.

If I loaded psd file and save in photoshop format, I get a grainy gray image without content.

I'm running Mac pro with Mac OS X (10.4.11)

We completely rely on OS support in RAW development. So you will need to upgrade to 10.5.x to read your NEF files directly by Focus. You can also save them as TIFF from Photoshop and then process by Helicon Focus.
