I've used Helicon Remote for years with my Canon R5, but recently upgraded to the R5 Mark II. Helicon Remote will not zoom on the live view window with the R5II, nothing happens with double-clicking the image. I've spoken with Helicon support and they have no idea what the issue is.

I'm resorting to manually zooming the live view on the camera body itself, which is then replicated within Helicon Remote. It's time consuming and annoying as heck.

Any ideas?

I've also found the focus steps to be too large on the R5II with Helicon Remote set on "auto" DOF. Not an issue with the R5, even with the same exact lens.

I have tried re-installing Helicon Remote, deleting preferences (I'm on macOS), reseting the cameras to default settings, different lenses, etc. Canon firmware is up-to-date.

I should mention, this happens on two different R5II bodies. It's not a fluke with just one.

You need to calibrate the calculator: click "DOF", then click the blue link and follow the instructions.
It sounds like you already sent a bug report earlier and we looked at it, in that case we have no new developments right now. This doesn't happen for other customers with the same camera, and we really don't know what could be the issue.

P. S. It's a single click to zoom in (or out), not double, but it's not a problem if you were double clicking, that's not why it didn't work.

Thanks Catherine. Fair point about the DOF calibration, I forgot about that.

I'm just curious to see if anyone else with an R5II has the live view issue with Helicon Remote. There has to be a reason and I can't be the only one.

Updated to new firmware 1.3.0 on the R5 II and the same issue persists in Helicon Remote. Also tried again to uninstall and reinstall Helicon Remote and Focus.

Unfortunately, we have no new knowledge about this problem. Live view zoom may not work when "DOF Preview" is active, but you probably weren't turning it on anyway.
Reinstallation won't do anything, that is expected.

No, DOF Preview is not active. I tried a re-install just to see if it's a configuration or file bug with my copy of Helicon Remote. I just find it really hard to believe that I'm the only R5 II user that has this problem with Helicon Remote. I've even tried adjusting random settings within the camera that relate to image review, preview, display preferences, etc. and seeing if any of those have an effect on the live view zoom, but I haven't found anything.

Are there any R5 II users here where Helicon Remote DOES allow live view zoom?

If I zoom live view manually via the magnifying glass button on the camera itself.. it zooms the live view within Helicon Remote (obviously). But interestingly, when it's zoomed in, if I click the preview window in Helicon Remote, the live view WILL ZOOM OUT! So I can zoom out, just not zoom in. Bizarre.

Thank you for the info, this is interesting. It confirms that the software does correctly interact with the zoom state of the camera, so the problem is not due to some dramatic change in this model. It is indeed bizarre.
I don't know if it does work for anyone, don't have the answer to that question. And I think there was one other complaint like this, but not more than that.
