After using Helicon Remote, am asked if I want to see the images in Helicon Focus, and am told that Helicon Focus is unavailable. Also cannot add Helicon to Lightroom Classic as an add on.

I assume you're on Mac. Please use this version of Helicon Remote. It fixes the first problem.
"cannot add Helicon to Lightroom Classic": Helicon Remote does not integrate with Lightroom, and Helicon Focus integrates with Lightroom automatically, you don't need to add anything.
