Comparison of Photoshop CS4 image stacking and Helicon Focus

Post by Gniss »

Attached is results of stacking 11 images in Adobe Photoshop CS4. Next message will have the Helicon Focus example. Easy to see that Helicon does a much better job.

Images taken through a Meiji RZ microscope with a Canon 50D. Field of View is 2.3 x 1.5 mm.

Nice image Gniss and a great comparison between the two software platforms. I don't know why Adobe Photoshop tries to compete this way with good third party applications like Helicon Focus. They do it also with HDR and the HDR interface and application in Photoshop is garbage, especially compared with the output in Photomatix or Dynamic HDR.

Helicon Focus is an excellent and easy to use program that continues to impress me.
