over-brightened raw files

Post by jimshirey »

i am shooting with a canon eos 5d mark II, set at raw + fine jpg. when i open a raw file in hf, it is automatically brightened to the point where it is useless, even when i have turned off the brightness adjuster. when i open the jpg it looks fine. this happens even if i open a single image, and the problem just popped up two days ago. i went back to some old stacks that i had processed earlier and the same thing happens. i've been using the software for over a year now with the same camera and never saw this before. yesterday i reloaded the program, thinking that something might have been corrupted in a crash. this did solve one other unrelated problem, but i am now in a situation where i cannot use my raw files. any ideas?

Please go to Preferences\Raw and reset all settings to default values. If this does not help, please upload one of the RAW files for out tests as described at http://www.heliconsoft.com/ftp.html
