general question manual focus lens on home built stepper

Post by ltruex1 »

Hello, and my question's are I plan using a home built stepper rail that I manually adjust for each shot (no auto function), and my lens Ziess with diopters is has no af functions and is not adjusted, for that is done thru rail movement, but the exposure is auto...here then is my question's combined: If I manual set my lens and move on the slide to capture my image in focus steps...can focus capture the exposure for HDR processing later. Put another way if I understand HDR sufficent...it takes about three values of exposure to produce an HDR image, and I assume Focus will capture those values per each shot. That way when the images are stacked, and seek to HDR the final result all the data will be there, even if I do all my shots manually. Is this within the realm of Helicon Focus? Kindest regards Larry

Yes, this is possible. I would recommend you to use Helicon Remote and StackShot rails or Trinamic stepper to automate the focus bracketing.
